HISTORY:
Back in 1991, the first batch of the civilian auxiliary volunteers was trained by the 505th Search and Rescue Group, Philippine Air Force composed of backpackers and outdoor loving people. From then on, the civilian auxiliary training was conducted almost every year not only in the national capital region but also in the provinces. In the past years of training with the 505th Search and Rescue Group of the Philippine Air Force (Groups or Individuals) to be there civilian auxiliary, there has no non-rescue group or mountaineering group who take care of the individual auxiliaries.
In 2004, there was a reactivation/retraining of the auxiliary. On this reactivation, we decided to put up an auxiliary organization. This organization will oversee all the civilian auxiliary volunteers and those civilian volunteer individuals or group/organizations (NCR) who will undergo training with the 505th Search and Rescue Group (505th SRG) to be there auxiliary. We came up to form this organization “505th Search and Rescue Auxiliary Group Inc. (505th SARAGI)”. We register the organization with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as non-stock non-profit organization. 505th SARAGI members are working and non-working individuals interested in search & rescue – the humanitarian cause of saving lives- throughout the Philippines. “That Others May Live…..” We are self-supporting organization. Our members are on call for the deployment and response.
